Who did Chairman Mao look down on the most?

Who did Chairman Mao look down on the most? He once scolded "the slave has been working for a long time, and he can't straighten his waist in front of the master"!

Chairman Mao is the person with the "hardest bones" in China, and what he admires are people with backbone and integrity.

Chairman Mao mentioned a person named "Jia Gui" more than once. Chairman Mao bluntly said that "Jia Gui" was the person he looked down on the most. Because he is a slave without integrity, Chairman Mao commented on him, "I have been a slave for a long time, and I can't straighten my waist in front of my master"!

Why did Chairman Mao dislike "Jia Gui" so much? Who is "Jia Gui"?

01

In fact, Jia Gui is the name of an eunuch in the Peking Opera "Famen Temple".

"Famen Temple" is adapted from a story in the early Ming Dynasty. The story is true, but the role of Jia Gui is fictional. Similar to most traditional dramas, Peking Opera "Famen Temple" also narrates the story of "talented scholars and beautiful women, emperors and generals, kindness and resentment".

Stills of "Famen Temple"

Chairman Mao liked the play "Famen Temple" very much. During his stay in Yan'an, Chairman Mao watched this play with great interest four times.

During the negotiations in Chongqing, the "host" arranged several Peking Opera performances in order to ease the contradictions between intense negotiations. The guests invited to watch the performance included Chairman Mao, important members of the Kuomintang and famous democrats in Chongqing.

The performer is the famous troupe "Li Family Troupe". It is said that the reason why "Li Family Troupe" is invited is mainly because of Chiang Kai-shek's personal preference. Among many Peking opera masters, Chiang Kai-shek especially liked the performance of Li Huiliang, a martial artist from the "Li Family Class".

At that time, Chiang Kai-shek ordered two plays "Mu Guiying in Command" and "Thirteen Sisters", and Chairman Mao ordered "Famen Temple".

There is another way of saying that the Kuomintang people ordered "Apology to the Thorn", and the democrats ordered "Harmony with Generals and Prime Ministers", but Chairman Mao unexpectedly ordered "Havoc in Heaven". Although this statement has no evidence or is purely fictional, it vividly reveals the different positions and choices of the three forces at that time.

Chairman Mao likes to watch "Famen Temple". In addition to valuing its literary and artistic value and appreciating the superb performance skills of the artists, Chairman Mao is particularly interested in the little eunuch Jia Gui in the play.

There is such a plot in "Famen Temple": when the chief eunuch Liu Jin asked the young eunuch Jia Gui to sit down, Jia Gui replied naturally: "Don't sit down, I am used to standing."

It is said that after the performance began, several important members of the Kuomintang sitting in the back row were still talking there, and they talked about "US aid" and "international aid". Apparently, they wanted to show off in front of Chairman Mao, to show how powerful they were with the support of the United States.

At this time, Chairman Mao did not speak, let alone revealed a trace of ridicule or disdain.

But when the above-mentioned plot was played on the stage, Chairman Mao showed contempt and disgust on his face. He pointed to Jia Gui on the stage and said to the people around him: "Look, the master gave him a seat. But he said he was used to standing, and he looked like a slave!"

Although the volume of Chairman Mao's words was not loud, they were heard in the ears, and the key members of the Kuomintang sitting in the back row could hear them clearly and truly.

Later generations speculated that Chairman Mao's words were specifically addressed to those key members of the Kuomintang, with the intention of mocking the ugliness of the Kuomintang government's obedience and groveling in front of its American masters in order to win "American aid."

We have no way of knowing whether what Chairman Mao said at the time really had such a meaning. However, after hearing Chairman Mao's words, the key members of the Kuomintang in the back row completely shut up.

I think those officials should have "entered the role and checked their seats", a big eunuch with physical and mental disabilities, a submissive little eunuch... a slavish look, such irony is too pungent!

"Famen Temple" Still Photo 2

In the summer of 1949, Chairman Mao came from Xiangshan to watch a performance at the Chang'an Grand Theater in Beiping, where the traditional Peking opera "Famen Temple" was about to be staged. At the invitation of Chairman Mao, some representatives who will attend the "First CPPCC" also came to watch the performance.

After the performance, Chairman Mao walked out of the theater surrounded by everyone. While walking, Chairman Mao said to the democrats around him:

"The two eunuchs in "Famen Temple" are very typical, one is Liu Jin and the other is Jia Gui...Liu Jin has never done a good thing before, but corrected a wrong case in Famen Temple, which can be regarded as what he did for the people A good thing." Chairman Mao commented, "This Jia Gui is very humble, in front of his master, Jia Gui has no dignity, no spine, his every move, every word and deed is a complete slave look."

Someone echoed: "Eunuchs are not normal people, and Jia Gui is the representative of this group."

Chairman Mao changed the subject and said: "There are many Jia Guis around us. They are pitiful and pathetic... We must advocate seeking truth from facts and independence of personality. A person must have a little self-esteem and a little backbone. A slave like Jia Gui Thoughts don't matter."

Chairman Mao also said: "The fox pretends to be powerful and domineering to the subordinates, and is submissive and servile to the superiors. Even the great eunuch Liu Jin looks down on him."

Over time, "Jia Gui" has become synonymous with "slave". Speaking of Jia Gui, people will naturally think of the kind of people who are full of servility and have no spine.

Chairman Mao especially admired a literati who "does not eat what is cheap" - he would rather starve to death than receive "relief food" from the United States.

In the 1940s, during the war, all industries in China were depressed and prices soared. Even people like Zhu Ziqing, a professor at Tsinghua University, can't afford food, and the family can only survive on porridge. At this time, the United States shipped grain to China, and the Kuomintang authorities issued "flour ration certificates" to the professors, and the professors could purchase the flour aided by the United States with the certificate.

Chiang Kai-shek and Leighton Stuart (first from the right)

However, due to the depreciation of the currency and the frequent interruption of food supply, the price of food has skyrocketed. Zhu Ziqing's monthly salary is only enough to buy more than three bags of flour. What's more, even if they can buy flour, the Americans have conditions: Since they accept the relief from the United States, the Chinese should be grateful to the United States and bow their heads.

In the vernacular, it is: If you want to eat American flour, then you have to be obedient. In short, flour is not given for free.

In the article "Farewell, Leighton Stuart", Chairman Mao wrote in pungent language:

The Americans sprinkled some "relief powder" in Beiping, Tianjin, and Shanghai to see who was willing to bend down to pick it up.

Then, Chairman Mao mocked: "It's such a bad food, it will hurt your stomach if you eat it."

Sure enough, Chairman Mao's words came true soon after.

In May 1948, the U.S. government tried in vain to revive Japanese militarism. As soon as the news came out, it was strongly condemned by all walks of life in China.

In this regard, the US ambassador to China Leighton Stuart and Consul General Carboud in Shanghai made threatening and insulting speeches. In their speeches, Leighton Stuart and Carboud refused to respond to inquiries from all walks of life in China. Instead, they used "American aid flour" as an excuse to accuse "the Chinese do not know good and evil, and will repay kindness with revenge", and even threatened to cut off "American aid."

Facing insults and threats from the Americans, 110 scholars from Tsinghua University jointly issued the "Solemn Statement of Teachers One Hundred and Ten", calling on the people of the country to refuse to receive "U.S. aid flour" to protest the U.S. policy of supporting Japan.

There is such a passage in the statement:

"For the sake of the dignity and integrity of the Chinese people, we categorically reject all charity goods from the United States that have the nature of buying souls, whether they are purchased or given."

Before the "statement" was officially released, Professor Wu Han from Tsinghua University went to Zhu Ziqing's home, hoping that Zhu Ziqing would sign the statement. But as soon as he stepped into Zhu Ziqing's house, Professor Wu Han hesitated.

Because of hunger and serious illness, Zhu Ziqing was bedridden and had no money for medical treatment. What's more, there are nine people in Zhu Ziqing's family, old and young, and the life of the Zhu family has been extremely difficult.

Professor Wu Han thought that if Zhu Ziqing signed the "declaration", life for the Zhu family would be even more difficult. Therefore, he said to Professor Zhu Ziqing: "Whether to sign the 'declaration', my suggestion is to do what you can, don't force it."

Zhu Ziqing

Professor Zhu Ziqing said: "Mr. Wu should be aware of my character and attitude. During the Spring and Autumn Period, people with integrity would not eat "food from the cheap" even if they starved to death. The ancients can still do this, and we can do it too. I’ve made up my mind a long time ago, I’d rather starve to death than accept insulting handouts from the Americans!”

After saying this, Zhu Ziqing sat up with his sick body supported, and signed the three words "Zhu Ziqing" on the "declaration" without hesitation.

Early the next morning, Professor Zhu Ziqing asked his wife to return the "flour ration certificate". Seeing that there were still a few flour tickets for the current month at home, Zhu Ziqing said to his wife: "Hurry up and return it. There is still a small half bag of flour at home. You take it away together. If you want to return it, you must return it completely!"

More than a month later, Professor Zhu Ziqing's condition deteriorated, and the medicine failed. Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 50.

When he was dying, Professor Zhu Ziqing strenuously and intermittently told his family members: "One thing must be remembered, I signed the 'declaration' of refusing US aid. From now on, no matter how difficult it is, you should not Accept American flour."

Some people say that Professor Zhu Ziqing is "scholarly spirited" and that "food is the paramount necessity of the people", so there is no need for Professor Zhu Ziqing to "fight to the death".

But Chairman Mao did not see it that way. In the article "Farewell, Leighton Stuart", Chairman Mao wrote:

We Chinese have backbone. Many who were once liberals or democratic individualists stood up in the face of the U.S. imperialists and their lackeys, the Kuomintang reactionaries...

We should write odes to Wen Yiduo and odes to Zhu Ziqing, they show the heroism of our nation.

image

In this article, we can also see a heroic and familiar saying:

There is nothing to be afraid of a little bit of difficulty. Block it, block it for ten or eight years, and all problems in China will be solved! The Chinese are not afraid of death, but are they still afraid of difficulties? Lao Tzu said: 'The people do not fear death, so why should they be afraid of death. '

03

When China was facing the most severe international environment, Chairman Mao repeatedly mentioned the eunuch Jia Gui in "Famen Temple". Chairman Mao wrote in "On the Ten Major Relationships":

Some people have been slaves for a long time and feel that they are not as good as others. They can't straighten their backs in front of foreigners. Like Jia Gui in "Famen Temple", he was asked to sit, but he said he was used to standing.

image

Chairman Mao reprimanded him as "full of slavishness and incurable", and then called on the people of the whole country to "improve national self-confidence, and develop the spirit of 'despising US imperialism' advocated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea!"

In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "Big Brother" of the Soviet Union gave great help to our country, and the Chinese people are grateful and respectful to the "Big Brother" of the Soviet Union. However, some problems have also been exposed in the frequent exchanges and close contact between Chinese and Soviet personnel.

Chairman Mao meets Soviet leaders

At that time, the "Second Ministry of Machinery" submitted a "report on the relationship with Soviet experts" to Chairman Mao. After reading this report, Chairman Mao personally wrote:

"'All brothers in the world', you must respect the comrades of the Soviet Union and learn from them humbly. However, you must also break the superstition and defeat Jia Gui!"

Chairman Mao specially marked: "You must know that Jia Gui (that is, the slave) is looked down upon by anyone."

In the middle and late 1950s, Chairman Mao mentioned the name "Jia Gui" many times in his speeches and reports.

At that time, our country was facing the most severe international environment since the founding of the People's Republic of China. On the one hand, Sino-Soviet relations are becoming increasingly tense, and there is a tendency to openly split; on the other hand, my country has been threatened by force and economic blockade by Western countries headed by the United States, and it is becoming more and more serious.

Faced with one difficulty after another, some people in the country have become at a loss, and some people have even begun to lose confidence and waver in their beliefs. To read more good articles, please subscribe to "The Era".

In order to lead the new socialist China onto the path of "independent" development, Chairman Mao wrote the article "On the Ten Major Relationships".

In response to pessimistic and erroneous remarks such as "If China loses the aid of the Soviet Union, China's construction cannot be successful", Chairman Mao pointedly pointed out:

Some people are used to being slaves, and they are always a bit slavish, just like Jia Gui in "Famen Temple", when they told him to sit, he said he was used to standing."

'Jia Gui' feels inferior in everything, and cannot straighten his waist in front of his master. Some of our comrades are very similar to 'Jia Gui', and cannot straighten their waists in front of foreigners.

In Chairman Mao's writing, "Jia Gui" is a negative teacher, he is weak, superstitious about authority, he has no independent personality, and is a complete slave.

At a meeting, Chairman Mao once again mentioned the name of "Jia Gui". He said impassionedly: "We must cut off the slave's tail, we must get rid of superstition, and we must completely overthrow Jia Gui's style. No one looks down on Jia Gui!"

Now, the deformed group of eunuchs has long since disappeared. So, are there still people like Jia Gui around us? Unfortunately, eunuchs have long since disappeared in the world, but "people like Jia Gui can be seen everywhere" - this is the opinion of Mr. Ji Xianlin, a famous orientalist master, linguist, writer, and historian.

Ji Xianlin

Mr. Ji Xianlin said, "You don't need to look carefully, you may still often meet the 'Jia Gui' of Famen Temple who is 'kneeling and can't stand'."

Why did Mr. Ji Xianlin say this?

After the reform and opening up, our country absorbed foreign capital and introduced some advanced technologies and experiences from abroad. However, when the windows were opened, "mosquitoes and flies" also came in together. For a while, some people's curiosity about foreign cultures quickly turned into "worship", and some "elites" developed a "superstition" towards the West, and worshiped devoutly in front of Western developed countries. They pursue American values, and some radicals even believe that the next step for China is to fully "Westernize."

This is a kind of spiritual self-mutilation, behind which is "Jia Gui"-style inferiority complex.

Under the influence of this trend of thought, the "Jia Gui" could not stand up, so they would never be able to walk a straight path.

As everyone knows, China has China's national conditions, and China's affairs can only be handled by the Chinese themselves. The result of blind worship and superstition can only be humiliating and futile.

04

Finally, let me talk about the main difference between "minion" and "slave".

First of all, "slave" is forced, while "slave" is voluntary; secondly, "slave" is a social class, while "slave" is a kind of social consciousness, national consciousness, and a distorted interpersonal relationship.

The most critical difference between a "slave" and a "minion" is: a "slave" still has a life goal of being free, while a "slave" attaches everything to his master and has no life goal of his own.

That is to say, although a "slave" is unfortunate, he is not so terrible, because he still knows how to struggle, at least he still has the hope of breaking free from shackles and gaining freedom; Human beings are forever "Jia Gui" slaves.

This is the fundamental reason why Chairman Mao despises "Jia Gui" and doesn't like to see "Jia Gui".

In Chairman Mao's view, "Jia Gui" is nothing more than a walking corpse with no bones, no integrity, no dignity, no ideals, and his vivid soul has long since died!

He served as the director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. After framing a large number of cadres, he committed suicide after being dismissed in 1977.

In China after the peaceful liberation of Peking in 1949, the public security system began a series of changes. Tan Zhengwen was appointed as the first director of the Beiping Public Security Bureau, and the Military Control Committee of the Beiping Public Security Bureau was established. As time went by, the Public Security Bureau of the People's Government of Beiping City was changed to the Public Security Bureau of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and the directors at this time also underwent a series of changes.

However, the character Liu Chuanxin I want to talk about today, once served as the director of the Beijing Public Security Bureau, his tenure was full of controversy, because he framed a large number of cadres, and committed suicide after being dismissed in 1977.

Speaking of Liu Chuanxin's story, we have to start from 1966. At that time, Minister of Public Security Xie Fuzhi was stationed in the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, and the former director Feng Jiping and the then director Xing Xiangsheng were suspended from their posts and under review. Soon after, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau implemented military control and was taken over by military cadres.

Mou Lishan serves as the director of the Military Control Committee, equivalent to the director of the Public Security Bureau, and is the number one figure in the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. And Liu Chuanxin is number two. He once served as the deputy political commissar of the Nanjing Military Region, and now serves as the deputy director of the Military Control Commission. Under Liu Chuanxin's scrutiny, some cadres of the former Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau were designated as spies, traitors, and elements of the Three Antis. This conclusion is shocking, but the reason is related to the instructions of Kang Sheng and Xie Fuzhi, as well as Liu Chuanxin's own misjudgment.

Liu Chuanxin fabricated criminal evidence about the collusion between the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and hostile forces, accusing the Public Security Bureau of becoming the enemy's spy agency. Because of these fabricated charges, Feng Jiping, Xing Xiangsheng and others were subjected to segregation and inspection, and were greatly devastated physically and mentally.

After the Beijing Public Security Bureau incident, Liu Chuanxin was reused by the "Gang of Four" because of his outstanding performance. He became the right-hand man of the "Gang of Four" and was promoted quickly. However, even under the warnings of leaders such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, Liu Chuanxin made many mistakes and framed many cadres.

After the "Gang of Four" was smashed, people involved with the "Gang of Four" began to be investigated. As a minion of the "Gang of Four", Liu Chuanxin was naturally under scrutiny. In January 1977, Liu Chuanxin was dismissed from his post as director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, and was subsequently placed under quarantine for review. On May 18 of the same year, Liu Chuanxin committed suicide in fear of crime, ending his life full of controversy and regret.

As a former leader of the Public Security Bureau, Liu Chuanxin's behavior has caused deep harm to many people. His wrong decision-making deviated from the responsibilities he should have assumed, and caused a large number of cadres to suffer grievances and hardships. This tragic event should become a lesson of history, let us cherish justice and fairness more, and be vigilant against the evil consequences brought about by the abuse of power.

Of course, history is always worthy of our reflection. During this special period, many people are involuntarily drawn into the vortex of political struggles. We need to look at that history and learn from it to better understand the importance of power and responsibility and make sure that mistakes like this don't happen again.

Liu Chuanxin's ending is embarrassing, and his life has become a warning. We should always keep a clear head, recognize right and wrong, and strictly abide by professional ethics to ensure that fairness and justice are implemented in society. At all times, we should put the well-being of the people as the top priority and truly serve the people, so as to avoid the repetition of historical tragedies.

One day in 1981, the police in Xianyang County, Shaanxi Province suddenly received a call to the police. The person on the other end of the phone said in a panic that there was a fight at the Sanyuan Hotel in Xianyang where they were staying, and hoped that the police would arrive quickly to resolve the dispute.

In the era when "strike hard" prevailed, fights were likely to involve major cases involving human life. Therefore, after receiving the news, the police naturally did not dare to neglect, and immediately dispatched police forces to the location of the hotel. However, when the police arrived at the hotel, they were surprised to find that the gangsters who participated in the fight had already been detained by a group of people, and it was the commander of the Shaanxi Military Region who took the lead in knocking down these gangsters: Sun Hongdao .

(Sun Hongdao)

So, what was the reason for Sun Hongdao to participate in this hunt for the local hooligans in Xianyang? What kind of heroic stories and legendary experiences did he have?

If you are interested in this story, please press three links and follow, your support is the biggest motivation for us to tell you!

In 1919, Sun Hongdao was born in an ordinary peasant family in Nanjiang County, Bazhong, Sichuan Province. His poor experience in his youth made Sun Hongdao have deep sympathy for hundreds of millions of Chinese people who have suffered. At that time, Sichuan was under the rule of warlords from all walks of life. Exorbitant taxes and years of war made Sun Hongdao eager to change his hometown and motherland like never before.

In the end, Sun Hongdao ushered in his own historical opportunity-after the Red Fourth Front Army advanced into Sichuan and Shaanxi and opened up the Sichuan-Shanxi Revolutionary Base, Sun Hongdao, who was under 20 years old, joined the Red Fourth Front Army and became a member of the revolutionary team. A veteran of the Red Fourth Front Army saw that Sun Hongdao was smart, so he asked him to study at the Pengyang Military and Political Cadre School. guard.

(Liu Bocheng)

During the days with Liu Bocheng, Sun Hongdao's military ability and ideological awareness have developed by leaps and bounds. In his later years, Sun Hongdao told others more than once that it was the luckiest thing in his life to meet Liu Bocheng and be taught by Liu Bocheng in his youth. Liu Bocheng said to Sun Hongdao more than once: "Baby, you are still young, you must study more, and combine practice and theory more in the future. No matter where you go, you must care about the people and the country." Sun Hongdao kept his teachings in mind from the beginning to the end.

During the days in the Sichuan-Shanxi Revolutionary Base Area, Sun Hongdao participated in the harsh "anti-three-way siege" and "anti-six-way siege" campaigns. Made a contribution of my own. In 1935, Sun Hongdao participated in the Long March of the Red Fourth Front Army, and finally arrived at the revolutionary base in northern Shaanxi smoothly. After the baptism of blood and fire on the Long March, Sun Hongdao gained a completely new experience and growth.

(Red Fourth Front Army)

In 1937, after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Sun Hongdao did not arrive at the front line immediately, but was sent to the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University on the recommendation of Liu Bocheng to continue his studies. After graduating from the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, Sun Hongdao joined the Fifth Brigade of the Teaching Brigade of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army as a platoon leader and company commander, and then followed the main force of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army into Shandong to open up the Jiaodong Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Base.

In 1940, under the leadership of Peng Dehuai, the guerrilla forces of the Eighth Route Army launched the "Hundred Regiments War", destroying countless railways and mines of the Japanese and puppet troops. The angry Japanese army launched a mad retaliation against the Eighth Route Army. The Jiaodong Revolutionary Base where Sun Hongdao was located was severely blocked and raided by the Japanese army. In the face of the menacing Japanese army, Sun Hongdao learned the experience and lessons of "anti-three-way siege" and "anti-six-way siege" in the past, organized anti-mopping operations in the Jiaodong Anti-Japanese Base Area, and finally won the victory.

In 1945, after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Huang Kecheng proposed to the party organization the strategic policy of "Managing the Northeast", and proposed the strategic significance of seizing the Northeast with a strong industrial foundation for the liberation of the whole country. The party organization immediately adopted Huang Kecheng's suggestion, and dispatched the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army anti-Japanese armed forces stationed in Shandong to the northeast, and Sun Hongdao was one of them.

In 1946, Sun Hongdao was appointed as the deputy battalion commander of the Second Battalion of the Second Regiment of the First Division of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army, and later incorporated into the First Column of the Northeast Field Army as the battalion commander. During his tenure, Sun Hongdao made indelible contributions to the victory of the War of Liberation through three voyages to the south of the Yangtze River, four guarantees to the Linjiang River, the Northeast Summer Offensive, the Battle of Liaoshen, the Battle of Tianjin, the Battle of Hengbao and the Battle of Guangxi.

(Sun Hongdao took a photo with his comrades in arms)

After the founding of New China in 1949, Sun Hongdao was first transferred to western Hunan to suppress bandits, and completed the task of suppressing 200,000 bandits in three years ahead of schedule, ensuring the long-term peace and stability of the people of Hunan Province. In 1950, Sun Hongdao was transferred to the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. The fifth major battle. After returning to China, Sun Hongdao was appointed as the acting commander of the 112th Division of the 38th Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

Due to his outstanding achievements on the battlefield, Sun Hongdao was awarded the rank of founding colonel in 1956-although judging from the results of the award, Sun Hongdao is inferior to other generals who have made revolutionary achievements. But in fact, Sun Hongdao's abilities are far from inferior to others. If Sun Hongdao could be born a year or two earlier, then I'm afraid he can make more achievements on the battlefield.

In 1978, Sun Hongdao was appointed as the deputy chief of staff of the Chengdu Military Region and began his career in charge of local military defense. In 1980, Sun Hongdao was appointed commander of the Shaanxi Military Region.

Sun Hongdao, who held an important position, did not forget Liu Bocheng's teachings to him in the past. Although he is a commander of the military region, he has always cared about the people and cared about the sufferings of the people. He often visited the countryside of Shaanxi Province with his secretary and other staff to understand the needs of the people.

(Sun Hongdao took a photo with his comrades in arms)

One day, Sun Hongdao, his secretary and other staff came to Sanyuan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province for inspection. They passed through many villages along the way. At noon, the people who came to investigate were hungry, so they decided to have a meal in a small restaurant in Sanyuan County and rest for a while.

Sun Hongdao himself is a person who likes to be clean, and at the same time, he didn't want his "private visit on Weibo" to make too much noise, so he asked the restaurant to arrange a private room for them, and a few of them ordered meat pie with pickled vegetables, spicy The fragrant pot and the bowl chicken, when he was about to move his chopsticks, suddenly Sun Hongdao heard a loud noise from outside - a few people who looked like hooligans pushed away the owner and waiter of the restaurant, and broke into Sun Hongdao The private room where they are waiting.

(Old restaurant from the 80s)

These gangsters occupy restaurants on weekdays. It is common for them to break into other people's private rooms to provoke trouble and ask for money. Sun Hongdao only heard the leader say arrogantly: "This is my territory, if you are interested, leave as soon as possible."

Sun Hongdao saw at a glance that these people were not friendly, but he didn't want to reveal his identity immediately, so he said to the waiter: "You ask them to change places and eat elsewhere." The bullying of these local ruffians, how dare they say such a thing. The gangsters saw Sun Hongdao sitting at the dinner table without moving, showing no fear of themselves, and suddenly felt that their "prestige" was challenged, so they began to provoke Sun Hongdao even more.

"You're still in good spirits, aren't you? See if I won't overturn your desk today." Saying that, the leading gangster rushed towards Sun Hongdao's seat. And Sun Hongdao was also unceremonious, and directly slapped the leader of the gangster, knocking him to the ground. Seeing that Sun Hongdao had injured their boss, the rest of the gangsters rushed forward one after another, while Sun Hongdao's secretary and guards also stood up to protect the chief, and the two groups scuffled together like this.

Such a chaotic scene frightened the attendant present. He immediately dialed the phone number of Xianyang City and asked the police to stop the fight, thus leading to the scene at the beginning of our story.

But what the waiters and the police didn't expect was that when they arrived at the scene of the fight, they were surprised to find that those gangsters who had picked quarrels and troubles before were all detained on the ground one by one, and they had long since disappeared. demeanor.

In fact, this was expected—after all, many of Sun Hongdao and his secretaries and guards had started revolution since the time of the Red Army, so it was no problem to deal with a few gangsters. The reason why Sun Hongdao was unwilling to take action against a few gangsters at the beginning was simply because he was afraid of exposing his identity as a private interviewer. In fact, he has long hated these gangsters who usually do evil and bully men and women.

(Severely crack down on criminal activities in the 1980s)

The deeds of Sun Hongdao acting out of righteousness and arresting several gangsters quickly spread throughout Shaanxi Province, and the common people in Shaanxi couldn't help but give a thumbs up to the jealous Sun Hongdao. However, it was not the only case in the country that Sun Hongdao met gangsters by chance on the street. In the 1980s, Deng Xiaoping returned to Beijing from the Qinhuangdao summer resort by car. When he passed Tangshan on the way, he also encountered a group of hooligans known as the "Tangshan Chopper Team" who provoked trouble.

In the face of rampant criminal activities across the country, Deng Xiaoping pointed out: "If we want to promote reform and opening up and ensure the long-term stability of our country, we must carry out a campaign to crack down on criminal crimes, just like the three major battles during the War of Liberation. Similarly, fight three to five decisive battles to completely eradicate the soil of social crime.”

(In the 1980s, severe crimes were cracked down)

Under Deng Xiaoping's suggestion, the whole country immediately started a vigorous crackdown on criminal activities. According to relevant statistics, a total of 1.772 million people were arrested and 1.747 million people were sentenced, including many habitual offenders who seriously endangered the lives and property of the people in the past. , There are also some bureaucratic playboys who rely on their nepotism to run amok. In this regard, Deng Xiaoping's attitude has always been very firm. Deng Xiaoping said: "There is nothing more important than the long-term stability of a country and the safety of people's lives and property!"

After nearly 10 years of cracking down on criminal activities, the country's overall legal environment has been revitalized, and the social atmosphere has also undergone brand-new changes. China's reform and opening up has been guaranteed and continued in a good legal environment. In the 1990s, the then President of the United States, Clinton, said frankly in his public speeches: "The United States and other Western countries should learn from China's decisive spirit in cracking down on criminal activities. China is an example worth learning and learning from."

Image

Image

Image
Image
