真话诞生在前，谎言分娩在后，自此，高高在上的真话总是鄙夷谎言，说它完全没有良心。对此，自卑怯懦的谎言有点不服气，也开始嘲笑真话，说它完全不懂生存之道。为此，真话和谎言吵个喋喋不休，谁也不服谁，于是，只好请一个叫做湘南徐工的家伙来说道说道。

我们常常渴望真话，却得不到有价值的真话。我们常常排斥谎言，却经常言不由衷地抛出谎言，也经常从左耳飘进谎言，有些谎言留存于脑底，有些谎言从右耳飘出。
这里的“话”与“言”不仅局限于某人当面所说出的某种语言，亦涵盖他（她）在平面介质和网络上所留下的文字、符号、图片、音频、视频以及他（她）委托别人帮忙所传达的信息，于湘南徐工看来，肢体动作也属于语言，谓为肢体语言。你的一个眼神、一个微笑、一个点头、一个手势乃至更多的动作都向别人传达了某种信息，你眨下眼、皱下眉、挤下笑、点下头、挥下手、跺下脚，这所有的动作在特定的国家和特殊的文化背景下都是一种无声的语言。譬如在中国，你点下头，这代表默认“是”；若你的脑袋摇得像拨浪鼓一样，这强烈地代表“不是”，这两个动作可能是哑巴们每天都要重复的动作。再譬如有朋自远方而来，你伫立某处老远就向别人挥手示意，那一瞬间你已经将你的热情迅速地传达给了你的朋友。
有的人道行比较浅，明明憎恶别人，见面时却强颜欢笑，这种披上真话外衣的肢体语言其实就是谎言，诚如那个成语“皮笑肉不笑”；有的人道行比较深，心机较重，明明憎恶别人，却在见面时让别人如沐春风，这种披上真话外衣的肢体语言也是谎言，诚如那两个成语“笑里藏刀”、“绵里藏针”。

真话是你忠于自己的内心对某个人、外界或媒体在毫无防备时所说出来的真心话，你不假思索而自然地蹦出来。但是，这个“防备”很多人却难以做到，要么难以释怀，要么疑心太重，要么习惯了恭维，所以他（她）可能一辈子都在说谎。另一种真话是你将所看到的、所听见的、所嗅见的、所尝到的、所触到的忠于客观存在的事物原原本本地陈述出来，如此说来，你说的话无任何虚假，可是，囿于你的文化修养、知识水平、逻辑思维能力、分析能力、判断能力、记忆能力和语言表达能力，你的陈述难免掺杂“谎言”，于你而言，你的确说了真话，好比那两个成语“错踪复杂”、“扑朔迷离”一样，这就需要智者去拨云见日，澄清所谓的谎言，直击事实的真相。而实际上，绝对的真相是没有的，因为真相只为利益服务。譬如一个耄耋老人在回忆往事时，由于他（她）的记忆发生紊乱，所以他（她）的谎言很有可能多过真话。
谎言是你在知道事实真相的前提下本着以欺骗别人的目的而说出有异于事实的话，但谎言并非是真相的反义词，因为真相是客观存在的，它不以人的意志为转移，它需要人们花时间去认知。鉴定谎言的前提是在说谎人的脑海中拥有与其所说的不同的“真相”，前提是这个人属于正常人，而不是精神病人。基于此，如果说谎人所说的一切与其人脑海中残存的记忆完全相符，那么他（她）所说出的话则不能称之为谎言。
一般来说，谎言对别人、社会、民族乃至国家是有一定副作用的，但是，善意和美丽的谎言却能给人带来益处，因为它能在一段时间内尽可能地保护某个人乃至一群人，但时间若是往前推进，或许总有那么一天，善意和美丽的谎言终究会变成真实的谎言，诚如“纸包不住火”那句话，而恰好有部电影就叫做《真实的谎言》。此外，大家不要忘了，隐瞒这种变相的沉默其实也是谎言的一种表达形式。

当谎言遇上面子、礼貌和尊严，它便成了大家心知肚明的真话。譬如我们在应酬中总喜欢称呼某个女人为美女（粤语为靓女），而事实上，那个女人并不漂亮，或许丑陋无比，有碍观瞻，旁人只能相视一笑，仿佛美女成了女人在公众场合的统一称呼。同理，我们在应酬中也总喜欢称呼某个男人为帅哥（粤语为靓仔），而事实上，那个男人并不帅气，或许又矮又胖，有伤大雅，旁人只能相视一笑，仿佛帅哥成了男人在公众场合的统一称呼。
装逼行为总是伴随着谎言的魅影，一种是实力装逼，一种是虚假装逼。实力装逼其实都是真话，但给别人的错觉却全是谎言；虚假装逼几乎都是谎言，为的是在陌生人面前将所有的谎言在潜移默化中蜕变成真话。
喜欢阿谀奉承、溜须拍马的人经常会说谎，为的是谄媚别人，开始时他（她）说得言不由衷，重复的次数多了，违心的概率高了，他（她）便在不知不觉中理所当然地将所有的谎言视为真话。

俗话说：男追女隔着一座山，女追男隔着一层纸。谈恋爱时，当男人对女人说“我爱你”的时候，真话包裹着谎言，他可能看上的是她的家庭背景或其父母的社会地位，女人的颜值越低，谎言的成分就越高。
当女人对男人说“我爱你”的时候，真话亦包裹着谎言，她可能看上的是他的权力、财富或社会地位，男人的颜值越低，文凭越低，才华越低，谎言的成分也越高。
恋爱中的男人经常撒谎，妙语连珠，口若悬河，舌灿莲花，将女人哄得笑靥如花，不要忘了，隐瞒也是一种谎言，他肯定会隐瞒一些实情。“男人不坏，女人不爱”，会撒谎的男人往往比诚实的男人更容易追到女人，因为这种谎言绝大多数都是美丽的谎言，女人爱听。为此，李达烨写了一本书，书名叫做《男人的真话与谎言》。
恋爱中的女人也经常撒谎，百媚生娇，小鸟依人，温柔体贴，让男人如醉如痴，神魂颠倒，不要忘了，隐瞒也是一种谎言，她肯定会隐瞒一些实情。会撒谎的女人往往要比不会撒谎的女人更容易讨得男人的欢心，女人若是愿意用精湛的厨艺拴住男人的胃，则她之前所说的“我爱你”那句话绝对是真实的，诚如电影《双食记》一样。为此，颜筱洛写了一本书，书名叫做《女人的真话与谎言》。

丈夫若问妻子“我下面的那个东西长吗？粗吗？硬吗？”、“我的床上功夫厉害吗？”、“你来高潮了吗？”，在这种情况下，妻子一般都会送上谎言“又长又粗又硬”、“你真厉害！”、“来了”，丈夫明知道这些话是敷衍他的，因为绝大部分妻子终其一生只使用过其丈夫的生殖器官，没有比较，何谈“又长又粗又硬”？尽管如此，丈夫还是愿意将妻子的谎言当成真话，以满足自己的虚荣心。
妻子若问丈夫“你爱我吗？”、“我穿这件衣服好看吗？”、“我漂亮吗？”、“我今天化的妆怎么样？”，在这种情况下，丈夫一般都会送上谎言“爱”、“好看”、“漂亮”、“不错”，妻子明知道这些话是哄自己开心的，于是理所当然地便将丈夫的谎言当成了真话，以满足自己的虚荣心。

真话和谎言是相对的，而不是绝对的，真话里面有时也包裹着一丝谎言，谎言里面有时也夹杂着一丝真话，所谓“真亦假时假亦真，无为有处有还无”。我们不妨换一种说法，真话和谎言是有纯度的，就像白酒中的酒精浓度一样。百分之百的真话几乎没有，可能会掺杂百分之几的谎言；百分之百的谎言也几乎没有，可能会掺杂百分之几的真话。但是，智者总能从真话中辨别出那百分之几的谎言，也能从谎言中挖掘出那百分之几的真话。

儿童一般不会说谎，他（她）说出的话可能不中听、不悦耳，但这正是童趣之所在，彰显了童真之本性，正所谓童言无忌。如果一个儿童谎话连篇，这是一件非常可怕的事情，你将其理解成少年老成抑或老气横秋，这是一种自欺欺人的行为，待长大成人，他（她）很有可能会成为社会的一个包袱或定时炸弹。
人的本性是喜欢讲真话的，但人却拥有一种无师自通的本领，那就是撒谎，这种本领要么是别人教的，要么是自己在实践中领悟的，要么是在某种特殊的环境氛围中耳濡目染所致。
人在长大的过程中，年龄越小，说真话的概率越高；随着年龄的增长，说假话的概率与日俱增。当一个人处于奋斗阶段的时候，比如在青年期、壮年期和中年期，他（她）撒谎的频率几乎超过了真话。但是，当一个人在晚年即将步入死亡时，古人云：“人之将死，其言也善；鸟之将死，其鸣也哀”，他（她）说真话的概率突然又高了起来，待油灯行将枯竭的时候，几乎全是真话，这也就是为什么许多有良知的人喜欢在晚年撰写回忆录的缘故，他（她）需要在临死之前向全世界的人交待生前身后事，譬如巴金的《随想录》。

一般来说，赞美多是真话，恭维多是谎言；私聊多是真话，群聊多是谎言；在上级面前多是真话，在下级面前多是谎言；在私人场合多是真话，在公共场合多是谎言；在家人、亲人、朋友面前多是真话，在陌生人、情人、合作伙伴面前多是谎言。
真话与人品有关，人格高尚的人基本上讲真话，偶尔也违心地说些美丽的谎言，但绝不会损害他人的利益。譬如《南方日报》第一任社长、人民出版社原总编辑曾彦修先生，在那个特殊的年代，为了保护同事，他将自己划为右派分子，只为完成单位派发的硬性指标，他真是中国共产党罕有的好人。
谎言也与人品有关，人格低劣的人经常谎话连篇，虽则他（她）在现实生活中如鱼得水，但在尘埃落定之后总会遭到别人的鄙视与唾弃，中国有一个成语叫做出尔反尔，说的就是这种人。
关于史书，真话与谎言可谓平分秋色，因为古代的文人不得不屈服于统治阶级，难免粉饰太平。关于人物传记，若是人格高尚的本人写的，几乎都是真话；若是人格低劣的本人写的，吹嘘炫耀的成分实在太重；若是人格高尚的他人代写的，真话多过谎言；若是人格低劣的他人代写的，几乎没有阅读的价值。

讲真话是人的一种潜意识行为，是一种自然的神经反射，根本无需过多的思考，可是，我们为了某种利益，或为了掩盖某种行为，经常要别扭地说上一堆谎话，如果不小心出现了逻辑上的错误，我们还需圆谎，为的是自圆其说，捍卫之前所说的话全是真话。关于这一点，犯罪嫌疑人可谓做到了极致，于是人们发明了测谎仪，但是，测谎仪并不能鉴定真话与谎言，它只能作为一种侦破案情的辅助工具，测试犯罪嫌疑人在其心理受到刺激时有什么生理变化，因为人在撒谎时其心理特征会发生变化，譬如血压升高、呼吸急促等等。
若是一个人能够处变不惊，顺利通过测谎仪，做到“泰山崩于前而色不变，麋鹿兴于左而目不瞬”，那这个人真是太可怕了，就像作家麦家所著长篇小说《暗算》中的间谍一样。

在某个饭局上，宴席开始之前，谎言多过真话；酒过三巡之后，真话开始慢慢地反超谎言；待人人酩酊大醉、烂醉如泥之后，个个都失去了防备心理，真话终于占据绝对的统治地位，所谓酒后吐真言是也。但是，当你不知道他的酒量到底有多深时，你以为他醉了，你以为他说的全是真话，而事实上有可能是假话，就算是真话，待翌日酒醒之后，他可能会否认之前所说过的话，于是所谓的真话便成了难以兑现的谎言。
对于一个不讲诚信的人，无论他（她）之前说过多少真话，只要事后矢口否认，所有的真话全成了谎言。对于一个注重诚信的人，无论他（她）之前说过多少真话，事后他（她）一定会言出必行，用实际行动捍卫那句真话，诚如“君子一言，驷马难追”；若果发现之前所说的“真话”原来是谎言，他（她）也会用实际行动将所谓的“谎言”纠正为真话。

有一种人生法则叫做戈培尔效应，戈培尔是纳粹德国的宣传部长，也是纳粹党头目希特勒的得力干将。他曾经有一句臭名昭著的名言：“谎言重复一千次就会成为真理。”也就是说，谎言可以嬗变成真话，只要不断地重复就行了。
碰巧的是，在中国就有一个曾参杀人的典故验证了戈培尔效应。据《战国策·秦策》记载：从前，曾子住在费县，费县有一个与曾子同姓名的人杀了人。有人对曾母说：“曾参杀人了。”曾参的母亲说：“我的儿子不会杀人。”仍然织布自如。一会儿，又有人跑来说：“曾参杀人了。”他的母亲还是织布自如。很快，一个人又跑来告诉她说：“曾参杀人了。”他的母亲终于害怕了，丢下梭子翻墙逃跑。
在这个故事里，曾母开始处于拒绝状态，到了中间逐渐地认同，最后被累积的暗示所控制，导致翻墙逃跑，从而让谎言得逞，谎言终于露出了其凶残狰狞的面目。
有趣的是，谎言假若说多了，当你某一天愿意说出真话的时候，你所谓的真话在别人的眼里全是谎言，你终于为诚信付出了无法估量的损失，乃至生命的代价，譬如伊索寓言《狼来了》的故事。

每个人都喜欢听好话，而不喜欢听坏话，这是人类的本性，殊不知，好话若是听多了，以至于蒙蔽了你的双眼，影响了你的判断，降低了你的智慧，阻碍了你前进的步伐，你若是能从坏话中过滤出那些适合你的真话，那你就是一个聪明人，诚如“忠言逆耳利于行，良药苦口利于病”。
一般来说，真话因为揭示了现实的残酷，所以总是不那么美妙动听；而用美妙的言辞堆砌出来的文章，其内容又往往不真实、不可信，正如老子在《道德经·八十一章》中所说的：“信言不美，美言不信。善者不辩，辩者不善。知者不博，博者不知。圣人不积，既以为人己愈有，既以与人己愈多。”

当一个人过于愚蠢缺乏主见的时候，他（她）往往会被别人的谎言牵着鼻子走，从而沦为谎言的傀儡。譬如丹麦作家安徒生的童话《皇帝的新装》，为了掩盖自己的“愚昧”，国王的大小官吏们都说自己能看见这件衣服，当国王赤身裸体地举行游行大典时，一位天真无邪、不谙世事的儿童终于说出了那句真话“他什么也没穿啊！”。
当一个人迫于别人的权势或淫威的时候，他（她）也会不由自主地说谎。在中国有一个
成语叫做指鹿为马，赵高牵来一只鹿打算献给秦二世胡亥，他在皇帝面前故意颠倒黑白，混淆是非，非要将鹿说成是马，部分大臣为了迎合赵高，于是抛出谎言，也附和说这是一匹马。当然，说了真话的人其后果很惨，他们自会被赵高所陷害。
当你拥有生杀予夺的权力时，当你可以将别人玩弄于股掌之中时，别人就只能对你讲真话，否则，他（她）就要承担由谎言所导致的惩罚。譬如中国封建时代的皇帝，如果某位大臣说了假话，皇帝可以欺君之罪杀之。此外，还有那道无声的语言——圣旨，如果大臣抗旨不遵，不去执行，亦被杀之。

人是一种高级动物，神经系统特别地发达，人可以假借嘴巴抛出所谓的真话，它其实又是谎言，因为心里所想的与其说出的话并不统一，然而真话完全是以真实的内心为评判标准，诚如成语“口是心非”。如果心里所想的与其说出的话完全一致，那当然是真话，诚如成语“言行一致”。但是，人的内心完全是一个看不见、猜不透、摸不着的东西，所以才有了“人心隔肚皮”、“路遥知马力，日久见人心”这些说法。如果大家都一致认为某人城府极深，那这个人真的很可怕。譬如三国时期魏国的司马懿，从他的肢体语言和言谈，你根本不知道他的心里在想些什么，而他的肢体语言和言谈在魏王面前几乎全是谎言。
当B在评价A的作品时（文学作品、个人著作、学术论文、发明创造、专利技术、项目方案、书法作品、绘画作品、音乐作品、歌唱技巧、弹奏技艺、平面设计、空间设计、雕塑作品、舞蹈、杂技等形式），如果B的审美水平实在不敢恭维，B所说的话当然是真话，而事实上绝大部分属于谎言。较之于A，不管B的审美水平如何，如果B出于某种目的，或嫉妒，或排斥，或明哲保身，或想从中捞点实惠，或以沉默的方式代替中庸，那么，B所说的话很有可能属于谎言。

真话有时往往裹在谎言里面，谎言有时也往往裹在真话里面，情商高的人总能聪明地听出其弦外之音，即当事人话里有话，而情商低的人却总是让人讨嫌。譬如你第一次去别人家里做客，当主人时不时地看下手表，然后说出“时间过得真快啊！都晚上九点钟了”，主人说出的这句话与钟表比较当然是真话，但与他（她）的内心比较却是假话，因为他（她）希望客人尽快离开这里，也就是打算送客。如果你是个聪明人，你就应该能够判断出主人在想些什么，于是识趣地接上话题说道：“是吗？我该告辞了，真是打搅您了。”至于情商低的人根本就听不出其弦外之音，或许会傻乎乎地说：“哦！是吗？还早。”
对于某件事情，有的人愿意说真话，而事实上也是真话；有的人愿意说“真话”，而事实上却属于个人认知上的谎言；有的人为了某种目的，自始至终完全说的是假话；有的人打算保护A，放弃B，于是有利于A的便说假话，有损于B的便说“真话”，而关于B的真话很有可能是其人临时编织出来的谎言。在这个由真话和谎言交织而成的复杂迷宫里，我们似乎都成了白痴，完全厘清不了事实的真相，于是这件事情便成了一桩悬案，譬如日本电影《罗生门》说的就是这种情况。
谣言一定是谎言，它大多出于A为了中伤、诽谤、诋毁或报复B，不明真相的人喜欢道听途说，并以讹传讹，用时下流行的网络语言来说，这种人就是吃瓜群众。但是，谣言止于智者，谣言遇到聪明人必不攻自破，而对于当事人来说，最聪明的办法就是将这些谎言束之高阁，所谓“清者自清，浊者自浊”。当然，你若有一套行之有效的危机公关处理办法，那自然是再好不过的啦。

在文山会海中，经常会从某人的口里冒出所谓的假话、大话、空话和套话，我们可以将这四种话统一命名为官话，官话当然是为政治服务的，它暂时不便定性为真话还是谎言，它需要时间来做裁判。假以时日，如果这些官话真的兑现了，那么它就是真话；如果这些官话终究落空了，那么它就是谎言。可是，鉴定的时间往往比较漫长，尚未等到鉴定结果，我们或许就已经辞世了。
