The retrial of Zhang Yuhuan's case of innocence张玉环再审无罪案

 On January 26, 1995, the Nanchang Intermediate People's Court ruled that Zhang Yuhuan was guilty of intentional homicide and sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve. Zhang Yuhuan refused to accept it and appealed to the Jiangxi Provincial High Court. On March 30, 1995, the Jiangxi Provincial High Court issued a criminal ruling that the defendant Zhang Yuhuan was found guilty of intentional homicide in the original judgment. The facts were unclear and the evidence was insufficient. On November 7, 2001, the Nanchang Intermediate People's Court made the same verdict as the original first instance, and then Zhang Yuhuan appealed again. On November 28, 2001, the Jiangxi Provincial High Court made a final ruling: the appeal was rejected and the original judgment was upheld.

After the final judgment, Zhang Yuhuan and his family continued to appeal. On March 1, 2019, the Jiangxi Provincial High Court made a retrial decision on the Zhang Yuhuan case. The High Court formed a separate collegial panel for retrial. After being detained for 26 years and 8 months, on the morning of July 9, 2020, the Jiangxi Provincial High Court held a retrial of Zhang Yuhuan's alleged killing of two boys.

At present, Zhang Yuhuan is the suspected party in the longest known detention in China.

1995年1月26日南昌市中院判决，张玉环犯故意杀人罪，判处死刑，缓期2年执行。张玉环不服，向江西省高院提起上诉。1995年3月30日，江西省高院作出刑事裁定书认为，原审判决认定被告人张玉环犯故意杀人罪，事实不清，证据不足，裁定撤销原审刑事判决，发回南昌市中院重审。2001年11月7日，南昌市中院作出了和原一审相同的判决结果，随后张玉环再次提起上诉。2001年11月28日，江西省高院作出终审裁定：驳回上诉，维持原判。

终审判决后，张玉环及其家人持续申诉，2019年3月1日，江西省高院对张玉环案作出再审决定，该院认为张玉环提出的申诉理由符合重新审判的条件，决定由江西省高院另行组成合议庭进行再审。在被羁押26年8个月后，2020年7月9日上午，江西省高院对张玉环被指控杀害两名男童案进行了开庭再审，法庭上检方建议法院改判张玉环无罪。

目前张玉环是国内已知被羁押最久的疑案当事人。
