Once tied with Chairman Mao Zhou Enlai, why is the position getting lower and lower? He has 4 shortcomings

As we all know, after the failure of the Red Army's fifth counter-campaign against "encirclement and suppression" in the Soviet area, the situation had to carry out a strategic shift. However, because the wrong line could not be corrected, the troops on the Long March suffered serious losses and lost their generals. The party and the Red Army were at a critical juncture. Chairman Mao stepped forward.

In January 1935, an enlarged meeting of the Politburo was held in Zunyi. At the meeting, the mistakes of Li De and Bogu were corrected. At that time, it was Wang Jiaxiang who first proposed to let Chairman Mao come out to command the Red Army again. When voting, it was Wang Jiaxiang again. A crucial vote was cast.

Chairman Mao always kept this in mind. In the days that followed, Chairman Mao repeatedly mentioned Wang Jiaxiang's key vote, saying: "The Zunyi meeting cannot be done without Wang Jiaxiang. Wang Jiaxiang cast a key vote at the Zunyi meeting." Great effect.

At the Zunyi meeting, a "new trio" was re-elected, namely Wang Jiaxiang, Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai. Mainly by Chairman Mao in charge of military command.

However, Wang Jiaxiang, who is so important in the party and the army, why did his position get lower and lower later, and he was not even elected as a member of the Central Committee at the Seventh National Congress? In fact, it is mainly due to its own four shortcomings, which limit his development. Let's take a closer look at it below.

The first shortcoming is that he does not understand military command. Wang Jiaxiang is from Jing County, Anhui. In 1925, 19-year-old Wang Jiaxiang went to Moscow to study and worked in Shanghai shortly after returning. He became the director of the General Political Department of the Red Army.

In November 1931, Wang Jiaxiang was elected as the vice chairman of the Military Commission. He was able to play a key role at the Zunyi Conference because he served as the vice chairman of the Military Commission. He pointed out the mistakes of Li De and Bogu at the meeting, but he did not understand military command. , It also gave Chairman Mao the opportunity to re-command the Red Army.

Because he did not understand military affairs, he did not enter a leadership position when the Red Army was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army. In addition to the second shortcoming of "high-ranking and few", there was no way for him to be a political cadre. Wang Jiaxiang is good at theory and has a typical scholarly temperament. Not good at dealing with people.

Wang Jiaxiang gave people the impression that he was withdrawn, which led everyone to think that he was arrogant. He had a high position, and it was inconvenient for everyone to take the initiative to find him. Besides, he knew the generals below him at the military and division levels. He didn't even know the rest of the generals.

As a result, he is naturally not suitable for political work. In addition, the third shortcoming is his poor health. This is also a major constraint on his development. Whether he is doing logistics work or leading troops on the front line, he must be in good health , Wang Jiaxiang was injured during the fourth counter-campaign against "encirclement and suppression", leading to serious sequelae.

When the Zunyi meeting was held, Wang Jiaxiang attended the meeting half-lying on a stretcher. After that, he almost finished the Long March on a stretcher. Later, he went to the Soviet Union to recuperate. He returned to China in 1947. It is worth mentioning that with his help After that, He Zizhen was able to return home.

The fourth shortcoming of Wang Jiaxiang is the lack of mass base. As far as the party is concerned, at the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Wang Jiaxiang was not elected as a member of the Central Committee. At that time, Chairman Mao spoke for him, but he was still not elected. Wang Jiaxiang had never been at the grassroots level in the army. , Most of the generals he has not even met.

In addition to his personality, he did not take the initiative to contact the masses and could not get everyone's support. In terms of the four shortcomings, it is not difficult to understand that Wang Jiaxiang did not hold a high position after the founding of the People's Republic of China, but he himself did not care about it. On January 25, 1974, Wang Jiaxiang died of illness at the age of 68.
