New China launched the first-level combat readiness six times, and all veterans were recalled!
All retired soldiers were immediately recalled, combat readiness personnel were on standby at any time, and high-tech weapons were on standby 24 hours a day.
And such a shocking state of first-level combat readiness has appeared 6 times in the history of New China.
Among them, three were related to the United States, two were related to the Soviet Union, and one was very special, which is extremely sad to say.
So, what are the specific times of our country's first-level combat readiness?
Our country's combat readiness level
Before talking about the first-level combat readiness, we first need to understand what our country's combat readiness is.
There are mainly four levels of combat readiness in our country, each corresponding to a different situation, progressively, and adjusted as the situation deteriorates.
Among them, the lowest level is the fourth level of combat readiness. Generally speaking, when major conflicts occur abroad, or some major abnormal situations occur in the surrounding areas of our country, it may have a greater impact on our country's national security and stability. If affected, our country will enter the fourth level of combat readiness, and strengthen security patrols and combat readiness on duty.
The situation of the third-level combat readiness is more tense. Generally, there are very major abnormalities in the surrounding areas of our country, and they may even directly pose a military threat to our country. At the same time, the preparations for war preparations will be further strengthened. The army will begin to assemble and replenish war preparations, and will also conduct pre-battle drills.
When the second level of combat readiness appears, it means that the situation has deteriorated and has already constituted a direct military threat to our country. At this time, the preparations made by the third-level combat readiness can come in handy. Our army will further expand its strength, start to build fortifications on the front line, and at the same time evacuate the battlefield personnel urgently.
If we say that the previous two, three and four levels are just preparing for a possible war, and the state is relatively loose and controllable, then when the first level of combat readiness appears, it means that war may happen at any time, and our army is fully prepared. You can go into battle in a second.
Generally speaking, in such an emergency situation, not only our army is ready, but the whole country will enter a state of preparation for battle. At that time, the whole country will be operational and fully support the front line. At this time, every decision needs to be carefully considered, so the number of times the first-level combat readiness state is activated is very small.
In the history of New China, the situation of entering a state of first-level combat readiness has occurred 6 times.
The first level of combat readiness: Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea
The first time happened shortly after the founding of present China, and this battle was also our country's "battle of founding a nation".
It was still in 1950, and the foundation of our country was still very shallow. Because of the previous war, the domestic business was in jeopardy, and the people were eager for peace and stability.
However, the Western countries dominated by the United States are unwilling to give us this opportunity for peaceful development, and they want to take advantage of this opportunity to completely curb China's development and rise.
At this time, the outbreak of the Korean War gave the United States a chance. They want to control the Korean peninsula by intervening in the Korean battlefield, and then start to suppress China from the northeastern gateway of China, and at the same time provoke the socialist camp in East Asia.
At this critical moment of internal and external troubles, Chairman Mao and other national leaders did not take it lightly, and repeatedly warned the US military to cross the "38th Parallel". However, the United States did not take China seriously and continued its domineering style, which posed a great threat to China's northeastern border.
After careful consideration, Chairman Mao made a decisive decision. The whole country has entered a state of first-level combat readiness. The Chinese People's Volunteers are assembled and ready to go to the Korean battlefield at any time to resist US aggression and aid Korea, and defend the country.
The soldiers fought bloody battles on the front line, and the people of the whole country responded positively in the rear, devoting themselves to the production of war preparation materials. The army and the people united as one, united against the enemy, and finally won the victory and disintegrated the US conspiracy.
However, the United States failed to achieve one plan, and there was a second plan. Soon, China entered the second level of combat readiness.
The second level of combat readiness: Jinmen artillery battle
The first time it entered the first level of combat readiness, the Chinese military and civilians faced the United States, but the second time it entered the first level of combat readiness, the United States was still involved. The second level of readiness took place in 1958.
Prior to this, the United States had been supporting Chiang Kai-shek, who retreated to Taiwan, overtly and secretly, so that Chiang Kai-shek always maintained the idea of "counterattacking the mainland".
When the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea started, Chiang Kai-shek also wanted to participate in it, but the Americans did not accept it four times. Later, when the U.S. military was defeated in the Korean War, Chiang Kai-shek saw new hope, actively accepted the support of the United States, and formed an army of as many as 80,000 people.
With the support of the United States behind him, Chiang Kai-shek was confident, and soon sent this army to a place across the sea from mainland China, and continued to bombard the fishing villages in the coastal areas of Fujian with artillery fire.
Faced with this kind of provocative behavior, the leaders of our country immediately raised their vigilance. First, they published an article titled "Taiwan must be liberated" through the "People's Daily", releasing a clear political signal, so that people all over the world will We can see the determination and confidence of the mainland.
At the same time, the country has entered a state of first-level combat readiness, and the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army immediately gathered the armed forces of the sea, land, air, and artillery units to Jinmen. The entire process took less than 10 days, and more than 450 artillery pieces and 36 artillery battalions had been assembled in the Kinmen area. In addition, more than 200 aircraft and more than 80 warships were on standby nearby.
Beginning on July 27, 1958, the People's Liberation Army began to counterattack, shooting down enemy fighter planes that continued to provoke and harass, and won air supremacy in one fell swoop. From August 23 to October 5, the bombardment of Kinmen lasted for two months. Even with the backing of the Americans, Chiang Kai-shek couldn't sustain it, and finally fled.
The third level of combat readiness: Battle of Zhenbao Island
The first two levels of combat readiness were more or less related to the United States, while the third was provoked by the Soviet Union.
At the beginning of the founding of New China, the Soviet Union gave great help to New China, which the Chinese people will never forget. However, we should also not forget that since the 1960s, Sino-Soviet relations have begun to change, and the Soviet Union has also posed a great threat to us.
There are no permanent friends, only permanent interests.
By the end of the 1960s, the Soviet Union frequently caused incidents on my country’s northern border, deepening conflicts. In 1969, the Soviet Union even ignored China’s passage and crossed the border impressively, attempting to invade my country’s inherent territory Zhenbao Island.
In response, China quickly entered a state of first-level combat readiness, assembled troops, and rushed to Zhenbao Island to fight.
At that time, what China faced was not only the powerful Soviet army, but also the nuclear deterrence of the Soviet Union. In such a critical situation, the Chinese people did not flinch, and avoided possible threats by building air-raid shelters and other means, while actively supporting front-line operations.
The final result is naturally our victory. The Northeast People's Liberation Army drove out the Soviet troops who invaded Zhenbao Island with lightning speed, and once again defended national security.
The first three levels of combat readiness in the first three times were all faced with the threat of war, but the fourth time was very special and had nothing to do with war, but it was very sad to say.
The fourth level of combat preparation: after the death of Chairman Mao
How shocking is it that our army has entered a state of first-level combat readiness?
All retired soldiers were immediately recalled, combat readiness personnel were on standby at any time, and high-tech weapons were on standby 24 hours a day.
However, not all Tier 1 states are directly threatened by war, as was the case with the fourth Tier 1 activation.
The start of the first-level combat readiness was in 1976, after the death of Chairman Mao.
At that time, the whole country was mourning, and the people of the whole country were immersed in the atmosphere of sadness. They rushed to Beijing from all over the country, even from overseas, just to see Chairman Mao off in person.
This is the touching wish of the people across the country. The original intention is good, but it inevitably brings a great burden to Beijing's public security. At that time, not only the Chinese people wanted to bid farewell to Chairman Mao, but leaders of many other countries came to China to express their condolences.
In this case, there is no need to be sloppy, so the country urgently activated the fourth level of combat readiness as a response.
The fifth level of combat readiness: self-defense counterattack against Vietnam
The fifth level of combat readiness occurred in 1979, and there is also a certain connection with the Soviet Union.
With the death of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam received strong support from the Soviet Union, leaving behind the help China gave them in the past, and the relationship between China and Vietnam gradually turned sour.
Vietnam has frequently caused troubles on the southwestern border of China, and large-scale and serious anti-Chinese incidents have also occurred in Vietnam. What's even more exasperating is that they arbitrarily pushed down the stele on the Sino-Vietnamese border, and crossed the border to attack the Chinese people living in the border area.
China sees Vietnam's various deeds in its eyes, and began to enter the fourth-level combat readiness state as early as 1975. However, at this time, the People's Liberation Army was only watching the military situation and was always vigilant, but the national leaders at that time had already foreseen the arrival of a fierce battle.
This battle came quickly and ended quickly. The People's Liberation Army beat the Vietnamese army back to the south of the border with an unstoppable momentum, defended the country, and also acted as a warning to others, deterring other countries and forces plotting wrongdoing.
The sixth level of combat readiness
The last level of combat readiness occurred in 1996. At this time, China has undergone the baptism of reform and opening up, as well as more than half a century of development, and it has long been reborn.
This makes the Chinese people feel proud from the bottom of their hearts, and it also makes those western countries with evil intentions vigilant.
The United States, together with some lawless forces, is attempting to threaten China's sovereignty again and further split China. Their actions have once again made the relationship between the two sides of the strait very tense.
In order to break the situation, China once again announced that it has entered a state of first-level combat readiness, and held large-scale military exercises in the southeastern coastal areas to show the current style of the Chinese army. The People's Liberation Army's powerful deterrent force really calmed down those lawless forces. This time, there was no real fight, and China resolved the crisis.
And this result is naturally inseparable from the difficult development that has lasted for half a century.
Today, China has not entered such a state of crisis readiness for a long time, but even if we have become very strong, we still cannot relax our vigilance, "Be prepared for danger in times of peace", this principle must always be kept in mind.
