“李云跃，你死了这条心吧！”黄晓琳想彻底绝了李云跃的非分邪念，尖刻地说：“说句不怕得罪你的话，就是交个朋友找个情人也得有一条好处。你死皮赖脸地纠缠我，我能图你什么？说图你钱财，你没有钱财；说图你人才，你自己用镜子照照是个什么东西？哪一点比得上我家男人朴实厚道？”

李云跃恼羞成怒顿生杀心：“敬酒不吃吃罚酒，我早晚要宰了你黄晓琳的人头！”

“杀了我你必须偿命！你不想活了就来杀吧！”黄晓琳见李云跃呆着不走，便走出大门喊来婆婆张大芝，帮忙轰走了李云跃。

第二天早上，张大芝在菜地里找到唐小青，讲出李云跃多次欺负儿媳、孙女的丑行，要她管管男人。

当天，唐小青回家就把李云跃狠狠地责骂了一顿。

“他妈的张家的老少女人没有一个好东西！”李云跃两头怄气，无处可想，心中加速了置黄晓琳于死地的恶念。

深夜泄恨挥屠刀

2000年3月3日夜里11时许，寂静的大兴村笼罩在淅淅沥沥的春雨之中，寒气逼人。

深夜，李云跃带着手电、菜刀悄悄溜出家门，先是幽灵一般地切断了张家照明电线，然后来到张家门口敲门。黄晓琳被敲门声催急了，拧亮矿灯披衣下床打开大门。

门外，李云跃凶神恶煞地举起菜刀威逼说：“借你黄晓琳白花花的身子睡一觉，想要命就赶快依从我……”

“你别拿刀吓唬人，杀了我你要抵命！你再逼我，我就喊人打强盗！”黄晓琳见是李云跃，心中一惊。但她仍然善良地想：只要婆婆和大嫂（张天秀当天带着小女儿来看望婆婆和两个孩子，在她家留宿）过来帮忙，量李云跃也不敢把她怎样。

但她话音刚落，已失去理智的李云跃扑上去就是一刀，由于力大刀沉，黄晓琳的脖子当场就被砍断，倒地身亡。随后，丧心病狂的李云跃又提起矿灯扑进内房，揭开被子，将黄晓琳睡得正香的5岁女儿张亚芳脖子砍断。

张大芝听到西屋响动，情知不好。但她以为是黄晓琳来打门求助，便起床准备给黄晓琳帮忙。但拉开门栓后，张大芝傻眼了：李云跃亮着矿灯，满脸鲜血，正穷凶极恶地向她举起菜刀……

发生的这一切，楼上东端房里还未入睡的张建东听得清清楚楚。

这个刚满16岁的微弱少女清醒地意识到灭顶之灾已不可避免，唯一办法就是逃跑。她来不及多想，第一个动作就是高声叫喊：“李云跃杀人啦！李云跃杀了幺婶和奶奶！！”她想用喊声催促母亲和弟弟逃命。紧接着，张建东掀掉被子，拉起小妹张小英，爬上窗台推开窗门一纵身从4米高的窗子跳下。

楼梯顶屋是套房，张天秀和儿子张华分睡内室外室。听到姐姐张建东的喊声，睡在外屋14岁的张华见四周漆黑一团，吓得用被子紧紧裹住头脸缩成一团。

杀红了眼的李云跃冲上楼梯进入外屋，将矿灯放在抽屉上照着床铺，一把扯掉被子，左手揪住张华的头发，右手一刀直砍下去……

此时的张天秀，来不及穿上外衣，直接从内室跑出来想下楼逃跑。但刚刚跑到外屋，被李云跃迎面一刀砍倒。

12岁的小英不敢像姐姐一样跳窗，她听到隔壁房中母亲和哥哥接连两声惨叫，吓得跌跌撞撞一路滚下楼，跑出大门喊救命。李云跃砍倒张天秀后进东房寻找张建东不着，返身下楼看见张小英跑出大门，便上前拎小鸡一样揪住张小英的头发往一块尖石上狠毒摔去……

在寻找张建东无果的情况下，李云跃又转身钻进屋里，从黄晓琳的箱子里搜出800元现金后潜逃。

张建东从窗子跳下，腰被扭伤右腿摔伤，疼痛难忍不能行走，一想到呆在这里只能等死，一股求生的力量神奇般地驱使她快速爬行，向着东北方向十分艰难地匍匐爬行，爬过5块麦田爬到200米外邻居毛友福家敲门喊救命。毛友福立刻开门将仅着内衣短裤，满身泥浆、颤抖不已的张建东拉进屋，穿上家人衣服，然后又用木棒抵紧大门。

张建东以非凡勇气逃出虎口，成了唯一幸存者。

天罗地网大搜捕

3月4日上午9时，建始县公安局接到群众报警后，火速赶到现场。各级干部、民警及和周边十余村的村民共2000多人，目睹惨无人道的血腥场面，无不愤怒。

随即，这一灭门惨案迅速上报。当时，首都北京正在召开8届人大3次会议，公安部获此恶性惨案后，非常震惊，立即发出A级通缉令，全国通缉李云跃。

随后，湖北省公安厅主要负责人亲自督办此案，州公安局也向毗邻地区发出协查通报，并向建始县公安局下达了死命令：15天内必须破案抓获凶手。

建始县公安局全体民警和三里乡干部民兵一千多人，在时任州公安局长李济的指挥下，由县公安局长向海峰、副局长秦章义、刑警大队队长杨学林带队，兵分三路组成30多个搜查队，对李云跃可能藏身的300余个山包、岩洞、丛林，对东龙河峡谷陡壁刺丛方圆20公里地方进行着篦虱子卷地毯式地搜索。同时在四面八方设关卡，周密布控，并悬赏5000元奖励提供线索者。与此同时，500名武警官兵也布下了天罗地网，白天黑夜、忍饥挨饿地搜查李云跃，搜查的范围远达30公里。

3天过去了，5天过去了，10天过去了。

李云跃仿佛从人间蒸发了，没有露出一点儿踪影。县公安局长向海峰、副局长秦章义、刑警大队长杨学林心中像压着一块大石头，沉重得透不过气来了。

其实，李云跃在杀死张家6人后，将血衣、菜刀扔到粪池中，于当夜逃窜到18公里外的大风坦村，藏匿在族叔李才国屋后的岩洞里。

3月4日，干警3次上门查问，李才国想起李云跃“即便被抓住也绝不会说出在叔叔家窝藏的事”的承诺，每次都赌咒发誓地掩护否认。

机智村妇套恶狼

3月5日凌晨4时，狡猾的李云跃逃出山洞，窜到附近的茅田太河街刮了胡子、剃成光头，又换掉衣服后昼伏夜行向重庆市方向潜逃。3月14日，李云跃潜逃至重庆市巫山县新华乡官渡区云台村一组村民谭芳林家中。

谭芳林是个机智善良的女人，家里开着小餐馆。李云跃走进餐馆吃饭时，打听到女老板名叫谭芳林，心中一动，立即认谭芳林为姐姐，谎称自己叫谭茂林，是陕西汉中人，出门打工挣钱，求谭姐帮他找活干，企图长期隐藏下去。

李云跃机关算尽，自以为伪装得天衣无缝。可是，他万万没有想到，他不眨眼地杀死了一群柔弱女人，最终却栽倒在这位同样柔弱但具有超群智慧的女人手中。

3月16日，39岁的谭芳林到集镇电信局给远在深圳打工的女儿打完电话，突然看见墙上张贴着通缉李云跃的《协查通报》，她细细阅读上面内容，心中大疑。回家后对这位“权弟”警觉起来，她暗中仔细比较：“身高169m左右，体态稍胖，平头，络腮胡，上门牙齿缺一颗，脚穿一双布鞋……”发现“权弟”除了将平头换成光头、将布鞋换成解放鞋外，其他方面与《协查通报》上的形象完全相同！

这头恶狼闯进了自己家门，怎么得了？谭芳林心中十分惊骇，但她表面上却不露声色，很是热情地关心这个“权弟”，并要“权弟”给自己的小餐馆打杂，包吃住月工资500元。

3月17日，为了稳住“权弟”，谭芳林故意给“权弟”买套西服，买鞋袜买毛巾牙膏牙刷。

3月18日，谭芳林按排“权弟”给邻居帮工后。悄悄乘车到官渡派出所报了案，然后又若无其事一般火速返回家中，令李云跃丝毫没有察觉。

当天下午，巫山县公安局刑警大队长罗吉成率10名民警悄悄赶往云台村，将正在饭桌上吃饭的李云跃抓获归案。

3月19日，李云跃被押解回建始县，涉嫌窝藏的李才国也随之落入法网。
